Smart Home Devices
For my own installation I have used the following devices that work perfectly with the home assistant. I recommend these devices to make a complete smart home and more.
1.Xiaomi Mi Smart Home Sensor Set
price 70-90€, buy it from the store Msystems
The package contains the control hub, motion sensor, window or door sensor and a multi-function switch.
You can buy additional sensors and you will definitely need the temperature / humidity sensor that is not included in the above package.
In my own installation I use the motion detector to turn on the lights in the bathroom. The temperature sensors in all rooms. I use the window sensors on air conditioners that do not have wifi, so I know if they are on. And finally the button so I can open or close some of the lights quickly, my children usually use it.
2.Broadlink RM mini or RM Pro
price for RM mini 17-25€, buy it from the store GRobotronics
price for RM pro+ 45-55€, buy it from the store GRobotronics
The package contains only the device and the usb cable. You need also the power supply.
With broadlink RM you can handle any device that has ΙR communication, such as the TV and the air conditioner.
3.Sonoff Basic
price 8-15€, buy it from the store GRobotronics
Sonoff basic is a single wifi-connected relay. You can use it to control a light or a fan.
You can use sonoff either with the built-in firmware (ewelink) or with a third-party manufacturer firmware, such as tasmota or esphome, both are open-source. I prefer ESP Home.
In my own installation I use it in the floor lamp and I also control the boiler through a power relay.
4.TP Link Bulb LB110
price 27-40€, buy it from the store Eurosupplies
This lamp can be placed as a normal lamp. It returns the consumption to the home assistant and we can adjust also the brightness (dimmable). This model is only in white color light.
In my own installation I use it in the desk lamp.
5.Xiaomi/Philips Bulb
price 10-20€, buy it from the store Media Markt
This lamp can be placed as a normal lamp. You can adjust the brightness (dimmable). This model is only in white color light.
In my own installation I use many of them at the porch, so i can adjust the brighness.
6.Xiaomi Bulb White and Color
price 15-40€, buy it from the store Msystems
This lamp can be placed as a normal lamp. You can adjust the brightness (dimmable) and also the color light. This model is white and color light.
In my own installation I use this light bulb for night light.
7.TP Link Smart Plug HS110
price 23-28€, buy it from the store Kafkas
Smart socket with wifi connection, has a built-in consumption meter.
In my own installation I use these sockets on my 3D printer and Christmas lights.
8.Shelly 1PM
price 15€, buy it from the store Shelly
Shelly 1PM is a single wifi-connected relay with integrated consumption meter. You can use it to control lights. It is very small in size and fits in the box behind the existing switch. Ιt takes phase and neutral to work.
You can use shelly either with the built-in firmware (shelly cloud) or with a third-party manufacturer firmware, such as tasmota or esphome, both are open-source. I prefer ESP Home.
In my own installation I use a lot of them to control the lights and the garden water valves.
9.Shelly 2.5
price 20€, buy it from the store Shelly
Shelly 2.5 is a dual wifi-connected relay with integrated consumption meter. You can use it to control lights and covers. It is very small in size and fits in the box behind the existing switch. Ιt takes phase and neutral to work.
You can use shelly either with the built-in firmware (shelly cloud) or with a third-party manufacturer firmware, such as tasmota or esphome, both are open-source. I prefer ESP Home.
In my own installation I use them to control the lights and covers.
10.Wemos D1 mini
price 6-10€, buy it from the store Grobotronics
The WeMos D1 mini is a miniature wireless 802.11 (Wifi) microcontroller development board.
You can use wemos with tasmota or esphome, both are open-source. I prefer ESP Home.
In my installation I have built a meteorological station and a small alarm in my warehouse.
